Your Next Step
Synopsis: Do you remember the first steps you ever took? Probably not, but I bet those who were with you marked the occasion with celebration. After a few of those first steps children go from waddling to walking and then before you know it they are running and jumping so fast that adults can’t keep up with them. In fact they, like all of us, soon get so adept at taking steps that they don’t always notice where the next step is going to take them. And that overconfidence can land them in ER.
You might not be able to remember the first step you took as a child but some of you were old enough to remember your first step after an accident or knee replacement, hip replacement, or maybe even a stroke. That was a special occasion wasn’t it? It might have even brought tears to your eyes. Some first steps take a lot more work than others but stress the importance of preparing for “Your Next Step.”
What are you doing in preparation for your next step? I want to challenge you in the church to make plans to be acceptable to the Lord whether Jesus returns today or after your death and make your next step accordingly.
