The Inner Wheel Ezekiel
Synopsis: The sign of holiness cannot always be seen in external circumstances. Ezekiel’s vision of God affirms something that God is every moving on the inside of believers and ruling above the fray of the circumstances of life. Ezekiel saw a wheel turning in the middle of the wheel and he knew God was not trapped in the ruins of Jerusalem. The God of Israel was ever on the move which brings up the question: what are you afraid of? The inner wheel of God’s presence is still turning and it can keep you upright in a lop-sided world. Is the wheel turning in your life? Ezekiel’s vision of the valley of dried bones affirms that God’s plans for His people are still firmly set and God will accomplish His purpose in and through them. What are God’s plans for His people today and what are you doing about God’s plans for you? Ezekiel’s vision of the glorious Temple of God sends a message for us today. The ultimate rule or law of the Temple of God is “absolute holiness.” We cannot get there on our own. We must come through the sacrifice of Christ Jesus.
