A Word about Casting a Vision from the Later Prophets
Let Me Explain
Joel & Malachi
Synopsis: Let me explain, the power within the life of believers is from above and will transform your life. If the power is not in you then you do not belong to God. If your life is not being transformed by the power within you then you do not have the Spirit of God within you.
Joel calls for repentance as a prerequisite to blessing and declares that God is waiting on your response. What are you waiting on?
Peter, on the Day of Pentecost, quoted Joel as part of his explanation of the experience of the early church. God has a vision for the church and the only way we can live up to that vision is to be filled with the power of the Spirit. Malachi comes along to add some details to what the transformed life should be like.
Malachi takes up the call to repentance and transformation with a declaration of God’s love. Malachi even illustrates how God has proved his love for the people and calls for them to illustrate their love for God. Judgment is coming and the only way to escape is to believe, repent, and be transformed by the Spirit of God.
