In Celebration of His Labor
Synopsis: My time with you today is has basically divided into two parts. The first part will be an introduction to a sermon series that starts today. The second part will be a devotional that is to call us to the Table of Remembrance in Celebration of His Labor.
The series title is “Storytelling God.” There are many times in the Gospels that Jesus was asked about God and his response almost always was given in a story. Many of his parables serve as examples of Jesus “Storytelling God.” Jesus is an example of our “Storytelling God.” God sent his “one and only Son” to tell God’s people that he still loved them and wanted to include all people in a relationship that would last forever. Jesus uses “Father” or “Abba” to set His stories in terms of relationship.
This is Labor Day Weekend in the United States. Many get to take Monday off in celebration of Labor. Today I want to turn our attention to a Celebration of His Labor (Isaiah 53:1-12). I hope today’s message will call your attention to the story of Christ’s suffering as God paints a word picture of His Love for you. If you have never received Jesus Christ as you Savior and Lord, I pray you will do it now.
Scripture Text (NLT): Isaiah 53:1-12
