Characteristics of a Servant Church
Synopsis: Today we celebrate the commissioning of several members in our congregation who are stepping into various roles in the life of the church. It is not a new experience for many of them. They are the ones who serve faithfully in many different roles in the life of the church year after years. Thank You for your faithfulness to the work of the church.
Today I want to start a three part sermon series dealing with various characteristics of the church pertaining to the local congregation. My key text for the series comes from Acts. Today I will talk about the servant aspects of the life of the church. There are four characteristics that I will be presenting today:
1. Fall in Love With the Master
2. Commit the Master’s Teaching to Memory
3. Take the Master’s Words to Heart
4. Put the Master’s Teachings Into Action
This is certainly not an exhaustive list, but one presented to challenge believers to live out their faith in Jesus Christ.
